R.I.P.E. Reveling in perpetual evolution.

Dan was evaluated for musical aptitude at 5 and was taken, kicking and screaming into formal musical training. The suggested course was violin. The idea of a small child screeching on a violin terrified his parents, so they compromised on piano. Of course, there was no piano at home. Dan practiced at the neighbors for 3 years. At age eight, he shocked the audience of a semi-annual concert at the distinguished Rubin Conservatory by being the first student to play a non-classical piece (The Entertainer). In high school, Dan’s band won first prize in the Jerusalem song competition and went on to the National Finals.

Fast forward: Dan studied Classical Composition at the Rubin Academy of Music in Jerusalem. Then he received a Masters degree in Biology (for fun). After that, Dan moved to NYC to study music--he receive a Masters in Classical Composition and Jazz Performance at Manhattan School of Music.

Dan writes everything, from Bartok-style orchestral scores to new age hip-hop to rock, pop, techno and dance. Dan’s music has been performed in New York (Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall), Greece, South America, South-East Asia, and Israel. He composed numerous soundtracks and served as musical director in a number of musical theatre productions.

In RIPE, Dan and Christa have collaborated on a number of songwriting projects that have become the core sound of RIPE.
