R.i.p.e. does "Labour of Love" for Charity
R.I.P.E. is proud to announce that they have been added to the Charity CD, "Labour of Love" due to be released later this quarter on 34 West Records. The proceeds from the CD will be used to benefit the American Cancer Society, and Ricky Parent Project. Parent, drummer for the Chicago rock band, Enuff Z'nuff, underwent operations and treatments for prostate cancer at New York's Sloan Kettering Medical Center. The proceeds will help Ricky pay many of the enormous bills incurred.
"We are not only pleased that we have been chosen as an inclusion to this endeavor" R.I.P.E manager Tom Feeley noted, "we are honored to have been inserted in between such notables as Heaven and Earth, with it's many iconic musicians, and Jeff Pilson. It should be noted that Ricky used to play with Jeff in the band "War and Peace", and I used to manage Ricky in Enuff Z'nuff. So there is very much a family thing here to help him out". R.i.p.e. to Remix CD
R.i.p.e. has aquired the talented ears and hands of soundman Kenny Lienhardt to remix and remaster several songs on their self titled CD. Kenny, who was named "New York's finest soundman" by TimeOutNY magazine, is best known for his audio artisty at the Bowery Ballroom. The following article is being reprinted with kind permission of Mike Wolf from TimeOutNY. It is extracted from Volume 526, October 27-November 2, 2005
New York's finest...
SOUNDMAN
Many factors can make or break a night of live music, but if the band doesn't sound good, little else matters. So fans of the Bowery Ballroom are highly appreciative of production manager Kenny Lienhardt's work behind the soundboard, which makes everything sound bright and clear. Lienhardt, who's been with the venue since it opened in 1998, passes much of the credit on to the high-end gear and to the 500-capacity room itself. "We've got a lot of power and headroom," he says. "Bright Eyes had 13 people onstage and it sounded great—every last pennywhistle was accounted for."—Mike Wolf
