R.i.p.e. has "Labour of Love" for charity
R.I.P.E. is proud to announce that they have been added to the Charity CD, "Labour of Love" due to be released later this quarter on 34 West Records. The proceeds from the CD will be used to benefit the American Cancer Society, and Ricky Parent, drummer for the Chicago rock band, Enuff Z'nuff, who underwent operations and cancer treatments for prostate cancer at New York's Sloan Kettering Medical Center.
"We are not only pleased that we have been chosen as an inclusion to this endeavor" R.I.P.E manager Tom Feeley noted, "we are honored to have been inserted in between such notables as Heaven and Earth, with many iconic musicians and Jeff Pilson. It should be noted that Ricky used to play with Jeff in the band "War and Peace", and I used to manage Ricky in Enuff Z'nuff. So there is very much a family thing here to help him out".
All of us in R.i.p.e. want to thank those involved in the production of this CD for allowing us to contribute to this cause. For further information, please visit www.34west.net.

Splice Dave Matthews with strong female vocals and the sound would be pure Ripe, a NYC-based progressive pop/rock band.
In the words of an industry professional: "You don't know what to do first at a Ripe show, look at the 3 beauties, listen to the awesome musicians, or get absorbed in the lush vocal harmonies." Ripe's sound tapestry derives from sources as diverse as Santana, Dido, Albeniz, Elton John, Paula Cole and Red Hot Chilli Peppers.
"We built Ripe to explore songwriting, but as we began to play out more and more, things solidified and we became a true band. Ripe has been together since November 2001, and it's the best 3 years of my life", says singer Christa McNamee. The seven-piece band consists of three vocalists, Christa McNamee, Leia Thompson and Jessica Grant, keyboardist/band leader Dan Bar Hava, guitarist Seth Himmelhoch, bassist Vinnie Raniolo, and drummer Rich Zukor.
Ripe provides pure vocal and musical fun, catchy hooks and real substance. Live show highlights include: a haunting 3-part a capella ballad, a driving world/fusion instrumental, and a lush pop/tribal love song with a classical quote worthy of a Carnegie Hall performance.
Ripe credits include headlining the NCAA Sweet Sixteen 2002 games in Syracuse, a live appearance on CBS regional TV, singing the National Anthem for the Brooklyn Cyclones opening game and 4th of July weekend game at Key Span Park, a showcase at the Hoboken Arts and Music festival, 6 #1 hits on MP3.com top 40 charts, guest-starring at the "Bergen County Teen Talent Finals", a televised showcase on LT1 TV, national and international airplay and numerous airing of our music video, "Don't Go Back" on several TV stations. Stage credits include Makor, Arlene Grocery, Tribeca Blues, Continental, La Bar Bat, Elbow Room, Downtown (Farmingdale L.I), The Regent Theatre (Boston), as well as college shows at NJIT and Rutgers/Newark and more. Ripe is sponsored by MIA Cosmetics. RIPE will be the featured entertainment at the Miss Latina USA contest in North Carolina this fall. Ripe is the proud recipient of an Honorable Mention in the 12th Annual Billboard World Song Contest.

Ripe's recipe for Temptation
Take one ex-Catholic school-girl
Add two military brats.
Let them simmer for a while in a recording studio with a steady temp of 72 degrees.
In the meantime:
Take one seasoned Israeli-born musician. Make sure he was garnished, glazed, broiled, roasted and sautéed with Classical, Jazz, Club, Middle Eastern, Rock, Pop, and Techno flavors, powders and extracts.
Add to the mix:
One hell of an engineer
A great guitar player
Bake everything together for three to six months.
For the musician in you:
Temptation is formed from layering Middle Eastern flavored club/house beats with vocals that use all the forbidden intervals in the book, such as perfect fourths and fifths in parallel motion, tritons and seconds. Textures are accentuated with some amazing drum loops from Reason software and original sound loops.
On top of the massive sound carpet, live instruments are sprinkled: classical guitar and percussion. The overall effect is like working out in a room with mirrors on all four walls-you can see yourself into infinity while you sweat...
Listen and tell us it is not so and lead us not into Temptation.
About RIPE-Temptation is a wonderful side project by the 7 piece progressive pop/rock band RIPE. RIPE's live music is a little different...more like Vanessa Carlton meets Dave Matthews, with a little Sugar Ray for texture and taste.
